            The St. Joseph Lancers will square off against the Marshall Cardinals on Tuesday. St. Joseph hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the  squad is eager to reverse.
St. Joseph fought the good fight in their extra-innings  contest against Waterford  on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of  2-1.
 Zach Rizzo and  Dominic Santarelli put in work while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Rizzo   pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Meanwhile,  Santarelli   tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in seven consecutive appearances. At bat,  Rizzo  went 1-for-4 with one  home run, while  Santarelli  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  stolen base.
 They weren't the only ones making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Chris Kenesie, who  went 2-for-5 with one  triple.
 The scorekeeper got an easy start  on Thursday as neither Marshall nor Parkview made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Cardinals' pitchers stepped up to hand the Vikings  a   5-0 shutout. The  win was some much needed relief for the Cardinals as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
 Marshall's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for St. Joseph, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-7.
