Baseball Recap: Sedan Continues Road Dominance on Monday

Sedan hadn't beaten Udall on the road since May 16, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Devils blew past the Eagles 10-3. Considering the Devils' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Brycen Dickens was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Dickens was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jackson Shipley was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. Ethan Zimmerman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Sedan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Sedan's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Udall, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Sedan beat the Eagles by a score of 16-5 later that day.
