Softball Preview: Mt. Pleasant Kilties vs. Central Falls Warriors

After three games on the road, Mt. Pleasant is heading back home. After both having extra time off, they and the Central Falls Warriors will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Two weeks ago, Mt. Pleasant suffered a rough 13-5 loss at the hands of Times Squared Academy.

Meanwhile, Central Falls entered their tilt with Juanita Sanchez Complex with eight consecutive wins dating back to last season but they'll enter their next game with nine. They were the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over the Cavaliers last Wednesday. Fans of Central Falls have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout.

Chloe Acosta was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). Acosta was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on LC Collins, who went 4-for-4 with a home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Chaelys Brito Acevedo was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Mt. Pleasant's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2-1. As for Central Falls, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
