Romeo lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Richmond, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's contest. The Bulldogs beat the Blue Devils on Saturday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 9-2. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Katie Murphy tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Romeo got a massive performance out of Ava Yaklin, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Yaklin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jess McLeod, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Romeo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in four consecutive games.
