Softball Recap: Middleburgh Comes Up Short

Middleburgh lost to Schoharie back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Knights came up short against the Indians, falling 23-3.

Middleburgh saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lyla Kowalski, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Skylar Kennedy also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Middleburgh's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Schoharie, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Middleburgh will face off against Galway at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Schoharie, they will head out to square off against Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
