Basketball Recap: Holland Tech Beats East Catholic for Their Fifth Straight Win

Holland Tech waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They skirted past the East Catholic Eagles 60-57. The victory was all the more spectacular given Holland Tech's disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 36th in Massachusetts, while East Catholic is ranked fifth in Connecticut).

Holland Tech's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for East Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holland Tech will square off against New Mission at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Catholic, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Manchester at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Manchester knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully East Catholic likes a good challenge.
