Volleyball Recap: Battle Creek Takes a Loss

If Battle Creek was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Marshall County on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Grizzlies fell just short of the Community Vikings/Viqueens by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their meetings with the Vikings/Viqueens: they've now lost four in a row.

Battle Creek actually scored more points across those five sets (108-105), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 18-25, 25-23, 19-25, 18-16.

Battle Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Community, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

Looking ahead, Battle Creek will square off against Santa Fe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Community, they will head out to face off against Lincoln County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
