Basketball Recap: East Bladen Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

East Bladen hadn't done well against Heide Trask recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The East Bladen Eagles came out on top against the Heide Trask Titans by a score of 64-51. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 72-55 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Heide Trask saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gio Driggers went 6 for 9 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds. The matchup was Driggers' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Cheatam, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

East Bladen has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Heide Trask, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Bladen will take on East Columbus in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. Heide Trask and Dixon will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
