Basketball Game Preview: Leesville Wampus Cats vs. Hackberry Mustangs

The Leesville Wampus Cats will challenge the Hackberry Mustangs at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Leesville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season.

Leesville is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They fell 65-58 to South Beauregard.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Shyann McCummings, who posted 22 points. That was a full 37.9% of Leesville's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kadence Reibold, who had 15 points.

Hackberry fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Evans by a score of 43-36 on Tuesday.

Leesville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Hackberry, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-9 record this season.
