Basketball Recap: Gaynor Comes Up Short

Gaynor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Bedford Academy Panthers and fell 81-38. While losing is never fun, Gaynor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 611th, while Bedford Academy is ranked 240th).

Gaynor's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Bedford Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Gaynor will face off against Brooklyn Law & Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bedford Academy, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Bedford Academy Panthers take on the Van Arsdale Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bedford Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matchups.
