Softball Game Preview: Sammamish RedHawks vs. Cedarcrest Red Wolves

Sammamish hasn't had much luck against Cedarcrest recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The RedHawks will venture away from home to take on the Red Wolves at 4:00 p.m. Sammamish has given up an average of 11.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sammamish came up short against Newport - Bellevue on Tuesday, falling 16-6. The RedHawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Cedarcrest's offense. They lost 7-0 to Inglemoor on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 28 runs in the game before, the Red Wolves' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Cedarcrest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paityn Craig, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. Josie Fiala also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Sammamish's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for Cedarcrest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8-1 record this season.

Sammamish couldn't quite get it done against Cedarcrest in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 5-1. Can the RedHawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
