Preview: Ridgeline Riverhawks vs. Mountain Crest Mustangs
After three games on the road, Ridgeline is heading back home. They will take on the Mountain Crest Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Ridgeline beat Sky View 65-56.
Carson Cox continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Blotter, who scored seven points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Even though Mountain Crest has not done well against Bear River recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Mountain Crest walked away with a 71-58 victory over Bear River. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mountain Crest.
It was another big night for Josh Arnell, who scored 28 points. He hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Kaden Hess, who scored 15 points.
Ridgeline's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Mountain Crest, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4.
Ridgeline took their victory against Mountain Crest when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 63-42. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Mountain Crest's Ray Robins, who scored 16 points. Now that he won't be playing on Wednesday, will it be that much easier for Ridgeline to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
