Baseball Recap: Kapa'a Beats Kauai for Their Third Straight Win

Kapa'a entered their tilt with Kauai on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Red Raiders by a score of 7-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-0 two weeks ago.

Kapa'a got a great performance from Iden Kaui as he tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Kaui has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dwyane Padre-Kusaka was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sonny Thomas, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Kapa'a's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Kauai, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kapa'a will face off against Island at 10:00 a.m. on April 5. As for Kauai, they will take on Waimea at 12:00 p.m. on April 5.
