Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Takes a Loss

Roosevelt lost against Kimball back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Roosevelt Mustangs were dealt a 76-40 loss at the hands of the Kimball Knights. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 349th, while the Knights are ranked 34th).

Devaje Jackson and Isaiah Johnson certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Jackson posted 16 points and five boards, while Johnson dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points Jackson has posted since back in January of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Roosevelt and nudges their season record down to 13-12. As for Kimball, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Roosevelt didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 92-81 defeat against Lincoln on the 17th. Kimball has also already played their next matchup, a 63-51 win against Carter on the 17th.
