Softball Recap: Malone Wins Going Away Against Gadsden County

It was a proper cat-fight when Malone duked it out with Gadsden County on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 15-1 victory. Considering the Tigers have won three matches by more than 13 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Malone got a massive performance out of C Garrett, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-2. Jordin Josey was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

Malone was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Malone and bumps their season record up to 3-7. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-5 Gadsden County and 1-7 Jefferson County. As for Gadsden County, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Malone will be playing at home against Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gadsden County, they will challenge Jefferson County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jaguars are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
