Basketball Game Preview: Virginia City Muckers vs. Pyramid Lake Lakers

The Virginia City Muckers will square off against the Pyramid Lake Lakers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Virginia City is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Excel Christian: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Virginia City blew Excel Christian out of the water with a 74-28 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-16.

Meanwhile, Pyramid Lake waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Warriors 58-23. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Lakers had established a 33 point advantage.

Pyramid Lake is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Virginia City, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.
