Basketball Recap: Waterville Comes Up Short

Waterville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 65-26 loss at the hands of the Leavitt Hornets. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-17 back in December of 2024.

Caitlyn Mccoy continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Leavitt, going 12 of 20 on her way to 30 points along with five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Gabby Smith, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Waterville's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Leavitt, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.

Waterville has already played their next contest, a 47-29 defeat against Morse on the 17th. As for Leavitt, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 57-36 loss against Mount View on the 17th.
