Baseball Recap: Escondido Comes Up Short

Escondido easily dispatched Mission Bay on Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Cougars fell just short of the Calexico Bulldogs by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Andrew Carrilo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Manganiello, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Escondido's loss dropped their record down to 22-9. As for Calexico, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-4-1.

As of now, neither Escondido nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
