Baseball Recap: Simi Valley Starts Season with Win Against Dos Pueblos

Simi Valley had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They never let the Dos Pueblos Chargers get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Pioneers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Kyle Casey tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Simi Valley's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Quentin McGahan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Simi Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-8 win against Chatsworth on the 19th. As for Dos Pueblos, they have also already played their next game, an 11-4 defeat against Newbury Park on the 19th.
