Jonah Garcia Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Jonah Garcia produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Pflugerville Connally to the win on Friday. Garcia rushed for 279 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (119.7) per game. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Pflugerville Connally's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. Garcia and Pflugerville Connally will take on Navarro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Dylan Owens Turns in Season-Best Effort

Elgin was led to victory by Dylan Owens, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Owens rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 138 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. He has become a key player for Elgin: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.

Elgin has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. Owens will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Bastrop on Friday.

Kyle May and Co. Win Sixth in a Row

Liberty Hill picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Kyle May. May did his part (and then some), rushing for 181 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry for the 'W'.

This year, May has run in 15 touchdowns while averaging 127.4 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he had one rushing touchdown.

Muchaw Made His Presence Known in Liberty Hill's 35-28 Victory

Bryce Muchaw was instrumental in extending Liberty Hill's winning streak to six on Friday. Nobody could stop Muchaw as he rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 81-yard run.

On the season, Muchaw has run in 9 touchdowns while averaging 126.6 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 2.86 rushing yards per game.

Cole Taylor Makes Top Five

Rounding off our Top Five is Cole Taylor of Pflugerville. Taylor threw for 355 yards and four touchdowns. His passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 302 passing yards dating back to last season.

Pflugerville's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Panthers dukes it out withCrockett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
