It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Orem ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cyprus Pirates, sneaking past 5-4. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pirates, too.

Kai Wesley looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Merrick Bostock and Zach Engemann did most of the damage at the plate: Bostock got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Engemann scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orem is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will face off against Desert Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Desert Hills is on a four-game streak of home wins, Orem a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. As for Cyprus, they will head out on the road to take on Stansbury at 3:30 p.m. on March 18th.
