Baseball Recap: Okawville Comes Up Short

Okawville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat. They came up short against the Greenville Comets, falling 12-1. The Rockets were not able to make up for their loss to the Comets from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Okawville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylen Turner, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Okawville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Greenville, they pushed their record up to 25-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Okawville will take on Centralia at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Orphans have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Greenville, they will head out to face off against Nashville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Comets surely won't give up without a fight.
