Softball Recap: Cloverdale Finds Home Field Redemption Against Parke Heritage

There's no place like home for Cloverdale, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 14-9 win over the Parke Heritage Wolves on Thursday. For the Clovers, this counts as revenge for the 6-5 victory the Wolves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Callee Smith made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Paisley Meyerrose was excellent, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Adelaide Meyerrose was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Cloverdale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Cloverdale's record is now 5-8. As for Parke Heritage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Looking ahead, Cloverdale will welcome Owen Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Parke Heritage, they will head out to face off against Crawfordsville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves are facing the Athenians at the right time seeing as the Athenians are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
