Independence entered their tilt with Western Dubuque on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Western Dubuque, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Independence will square off against West Delaware at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Western Dubuque, they will face off against Iowa City West at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
