Basketball Recap: Willard Comes Up Short

Willard fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Columbian on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Columbian Tornadoes by a score of 57-55. The Crimson Flashes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tornadoes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Willard has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season. As for Columbian, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Willard will face off against Vermilion at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Willard has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Columbian, they will square off against Norwalk at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
