The Ceres Bulldogs will challenge the Beyer Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Ceres is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Ceres came up short against Grace Davis and fell 46-38.

Ceres might have lost, but man, Manuel Ortega was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. That was a full 52.6% of Ceres' points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Even though they lost, Ceres smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 17 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Beyer came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Panthers 70-34. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Ceres' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-16. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points over those games. As for Beyer, their victory bumped their record up to 23-3.
