Softball Recap: Columbia Takes a Loss

Columbia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 13-5 to the Brookhaven Panthers. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Columbia now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Brookhaven, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Columbia will head out to take on East Marion at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Columbia has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Brookhaven, they will take on Vicksburg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
