Soccer Game Preview: Hopewell vs. Hough

Hopewell is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Hough is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Titans will welcome the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Hopewell's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past North Mecklenburg 9-0. The win continues a trend for Hopewell in their matchups with North Mecklenburg: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Hough made easy work of Harding University on Tuesday and carried off a 9-0 victory. Give Hough's defense some credit: that's the team's sixth straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Harding University from everywhere, as nine different players booted in a goal.

Hough's win bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Hopewell, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3-2.

Hopewell suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to Hough in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Titans were down 5-0.
