Recap: Pilot Point Bearcats vs. Brock Eagles
Friday just wasn't the day for the Pilot Point Bearcats's offense. They were outmatched by Brock on the road and fell 76-0. Pilot Point's defeat keeps them winless this season.
Brock's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Vance Guthrie, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Jesse Rusinek made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Pilot Point bumped their record down to 0-10 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-1 Paradise and 9-1 Bells (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.4% over those games). As for Brock, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Pilot Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Brock will square off against Iowa Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Iowa Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 545th, while Brock is ranked 132nd).
