Baseball Recap: Pine Lake Prep Takes a Loss

Pine Lake Prep fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Charlotte S on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 8-4 to the Charlotte S Stampede. The matchup marked the Pride's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Jeter Bynum was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Grant Ingram was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times he's played. Aiden Kaliszewski also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Pine Lake Prep and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Charlotte S, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Coming up, Pine Lake Prep will face off against Independence at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Charlotte S, they will square off against Pro Stock Royals Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pro Stock Royals Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Charlotte S surely won't give up without a fight.
