Basketball Recap: Immokalee Extends Winning Streak to Two

Immokalee won the last time they faced Island Coast, and Timarian Howard did his part to make sure it happened again. The Immokalee Indians pulled ahead with a 52-51 photo finish over the Island Coast Gators on Thursday thanks in part to Howard, who went 10 of 13 on his way to 22 points along with seven boards and five assists. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Despite the loss, Island Coast still got an impressive performance from MarKey Pointer, who posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jermiah Oliveras, who put up six points.

The victory made it two in a row for Immokalee and bumps their season record up to 6-4. As for Island Coast, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Immokalee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-46 loss against Cape Coral on the 3rd. As for Island Coast, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-43 win against Cypress Lake on the 3rd.
