Softball Recap: North Buncombe Wins Going Away Against Tuscola

North Buncombe won the last time they faced Tuscola and things went their way on Monday too. The North Buncombe Black Hawks were the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over the Tuscola Mountaineers.

Sadie Jo Hunter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 20 Ks. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Molly Clark, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Clark, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

The victory got North Buncombe back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Buncombe will face off against R-S Central at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tuscola, they will square off against T.C. Roberson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
