Preview: Scott County Cardinals vs. Cooper Jaguars

Scott County is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Cooper is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Scott County Cardinals will take on the Cooper Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Scott County had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They breezed by Conner at home to the tune of 63-13. Given Scott County's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Conner is ranked 76th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cooper took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-8 win over Collins. Cooper's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Cooper can attribute much of their success to Keagan Maher, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, and Cameron O'hara, who threw for 171 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes.

Scott County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Cooper, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 9-2.

Everything came up roses for Scott County against Cooper in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 56-20 win. Does Scott County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cooper turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
