Bench celebrations are all the rage these days. A show-stopping play often gets the player's teammates into a frenzy on the sidelines, but it takes something truly special to get the OPPOSING TEAM to take a moment to applaud.

Enter Tayson Parker, an eighth-grader playing for the Memphis Nighthawks (Arlington, Tenn.), a home school program. On a fast break he rose up and threw down a vicious dunk that made the crowd, his teammates -- and the opposing team -- go absolutely insane.

Nighthawks assistant coach Jason Williams explains that it was an All-Star game in Springfield, Mo., so the other team may have been a little more generous with the appreciation. But Parker's dunk is truly astounding for any player, let alone an eighth-grader.

Parker led his varsity team in scoring this season while winning a regional championship, so it's safe to say this isn't the last we're going to hear of him.
