Russell is 0-10 against Bozeman since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Rustlers will head out on the road to square off against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Russell will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Billings Senior, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Rustlers were the clear victors by a 25-0 margin over the Broncs on Friday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Rustlers were the (much) better team in the second half.

Russell didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Gage Allen, Dalton Heggem, and Grayson Muzzana picked up one apiece. Muzzana also made five total tackles, which is notable because Russell is 2-1 when he posts at least three total tackles, but 1-2 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Bozeman blew past Belgrade, posting a 45-14 win. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Russell better keep an eye on Van Shockley. He was instrumental in Bozeman's win, throwing for 267 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Bozeman didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Belgrade to a completion percentage of just 17.9%. The team can thank Reece Sutherland for the heroic effort on defense: he. Bozeman hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.42 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Bozeman's defense didn't let Hudsen Rask, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Lucas Garson, Thomas Moran, and Tucker Scott, who each picked up one sack apiece.
The win got Russell back to even at 3-3. As for Bozeman, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Russell was dealt a bruising 41-7 loss at the hands of Bozeman in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Rustlers were down 27-7.
