Basketball Recap: Bryson Drummond Key Part of a Team Effort in Stars Win

Mountain View Prep won the last time they faced Chapman and things went their way on Friday too. The Mountain View Prep Stars walked away with a 56-49 win over the Chapman Panthers. That's two games straight that the Stars have won by exactly seven points.

Mountain View Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryson Drummond, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points. Drummond is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Malachi Ritter, who went 5 for 10 en route to 13 points.

Chapman lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Grayden Humphries, who posted 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Colt Mcallister was another key player, putting up 14 points and six rebounds.

Mountain View Prep is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Chapman, they dropped their record down to 7-15 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Mountain View Prep will head out to challenge Woodruff at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chapman, they will host Union County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Union County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season.
