Basketball Recap: Columbus Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Columbus waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 56-42 victory over the Meridian Wildcats. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Wildcats are ranked 72nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Columbus has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Meridian, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbus will venture away from home to face off against Neshoba Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Meridian, they will be taking part in a tournament against Clinton at 1:00 p.m. on December 27th.
