Basketball Recap: Eastmont Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Eastmont challenged Wenatchee on Tuesday. The Eastmont Wildcats fell to the Wenatchee Panthers 71-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (55), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Eastmont still got an impressive performance from Tyse Lewallen, who went 7-for-14 en route to 18 points and three steals. Daniel Snyder was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Even though they lost, Eastmont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Eastmont's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-15. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points over those games. As for Wenatchee, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 4-16.

Eastmont has already played their next matchup, a 73-58 loss against Eisenhower on the 13th. As for Wenatchee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 100-65 defeat against Davis on the 13th.
