Washington scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Cortez Colts by a score of 74-72. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Colts recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cortez to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaden Ramirez, who went 7 for 10 en route to 17 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Ramirez a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Nygel Lindsey, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds.

Washington's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8. As for Cortez, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington and Sierra Linda will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Washington's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. As for Cortez, they will head out to face off against Dysart at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
