Recap: Christ the King Gladiators vs. Chicago Hope Academy
The Christ the King Gladiators''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Chicago Hope Academy, falling 63-0. Christ the King has struggled against Chicago Hope Academy recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chicago Hope Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamari West, who picked up 63 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarkus Lofton, who rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.
Christ the King's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-4 Chicago Christian (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63% over those games). As for Chicago Hope Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Christ the King does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Chicago Hope Academy is also done with their season.
