Softball Preview: Tamarac Bengals vs. Averill Park Warriors
The Tamarac Bengals will head out on the road to face off against the Averill Park Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Tamarac will be strutting in after a victory while Averill Park will be coming in after a loss.
Tamarac was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Stillwater on Monday. The Bengals were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Warriors. The win continues a trend for the Bengals in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.
Toni DeLorenzo made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Tamarac got a massive performance out of Erin Lee, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those five RBI gave Lee a new career-high. Makenna Ashe was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Meanwhile, Averill Park didn't have quite enough to beat Guilderland on Monday and fell 2-1. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Flying Dutchmen recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Tamarac's record now sits at 4-2. As for Averill Park, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
