First Academy barely beat St. John Lutheran the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles breezed past the Saints to the tune of 57-26 on Thursday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Leading First Academy to victory were Aidan Jezowski and Tzuri Smith. Jezowski went 8-for-13 en route to 28 points and four steals, while Smith dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Those 28 points gave Jezowski a new career-high. Rayce Teate was another key player, putting up nine points and seven boards.
First Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
