Volleyball Preview: Southeastern Panthers vs. Western Indians

Southeastern is a perfect 6-0 against Western since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Panthers will challenge the Indians at 7:00 p.m. Southeastern will be strutting in after a win while Western will be coming in after a loss.

If Paint Valley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Southeastern, they should've done a better job of containing Gracie Brown. The Panthers put the hurt on the Bearcats with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday with plenty of help from Brown, who had eight digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Southeastern was: they took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-10, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Western came up short against Eastern on Tuesday and fell 3-1.

Southeastern is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Western, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Southeastern was able to grind out a solid win over Western in their previous meeting back in August of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
