Basketball Recap: Hillcrest Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Hillcrest duked it out with Central on Thursday. The Jaguars took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christian Lawrence, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Lawrence's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Ryan Simpson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 19 boards.

Hillcrest's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Central, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Hillcrest has already played their next matchup, a 56-37 defeat against Shields on the 21st. As for Central, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Wilcox Central at 6:30 p.m. on December 2.
