Campbellsport faced Laconia in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Cougars came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 7-2. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Spartans on Tuesday, they had to take a 9-2 loss.

Braden Bothe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Jace Goebel and Gage Kohlmann did most of the damage at the plate: Goebel went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run, while Kohlmann got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.

Campbellsport's victory bumped their record up to 11-3-1. As for Laconia, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 12-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Campbellsport will head out to challenge Central Wisconsin Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Laconia, they will challenge St. Mary's Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
