Incarnate Word Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-31 heartbreaker at the hands of the Taft Greyhounds. The Angels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greyhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2015.

Incarnate Word Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Taft, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Incarnate Word Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Geneva at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
