Basketball Recap: Marlboro Central Comes Up Short

If Marlboro Central was feeling good fresh off their 61-36 takedown of Spackenkill on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Marlboro Central Dukes took a 51-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Beacon Bulldogs on Saturday.

Marlboro Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Beacon, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Marlboro Central and Beacon should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. Marlboro Central will challenge Saugerties at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday up 263 places (169 vs. 432). Marlboro Central will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Similarly, Beacon (ranked 91st) will meet Liberty (ranked 670th) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
