Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Wauzeka-Steuben

Wauzeka-Steuben had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Weston Silver Eagles as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on Tuesday.

Wauzeka-Steuben walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-12, 25-18.

Wauzeka-Steuben was led to victory by Abigail Wright and Claire Wright. Abigail had five aces and four digs, while Claire had nine digs and two aces. Those four digs gave Abigail a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Wauzeka-Steuben was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weston only served six.

Weston lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Lexi Rockweiler, who had 16 digs. Another player making a difference was Shelby Neumann, who had eight digs and three aces.

Wauzeka-Steuben's record now sits at 9-5. As for Weston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Wauzeka-Steuben will challenge Ithaca at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Weston, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Seneca on the 13th.
