Basketball Game Preview: Evanston Devils vs. Riverton Wolverines

The Evanston Devils will challenge the Riverton Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Evanston is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wyoming's top teams: Star Valley, who was ranked 25th at the time (Evanston was ranked 23rd). Evanston was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 53-52 to Star Valley.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Riverton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They managed a 42-38 win over Star Valley on Saturday.

Evanston better focus on containing Eric Smith and Branden Monroe as the pair were huge in Riverton's win. Smith posted 12 points, while Monroe scored eight points.

Evanston's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Riverton, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-15.

Evanston came out on top in a nail-biter against Riverton when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 53-50. Will Evanston repeat their success, or does Riverton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
