Volleyball Recap: Etowah Eagles vs. Academy of Richmond County Musketeers
On Saturday, the Etowah Eagles didn't have quite enough to beat the Academy of Richmond County Musketeers and fell 2-1.
Etowah actually scored more points across those three sets (62-60), but sadly they still had to settle for second. After all that action, the final score was 25-23, 19-25, 16-14.
Despite the loss, Etowah had strong showings from Alex Tomsey, who had five aces and four digs, and Kate Holley, who had nine digs.
Etowah's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Academy of Richmond County, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-1.
Etowah will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cherokee at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Academy of Richmond County, they are on the road again on Saturday to play Marietta at 4:30 p.m. Marietta will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Academy of Richmond County surely won't give up without a fight.
